Which hand blender to buy? Buying guide.

Do you primarily want a hand blender for pureeing creamy soups? Or does a hand blender with a vacuuming sealing system top your list? Our hand blender buying guide covers 6 factors to look for when choosing a stick blender.

MaxoMixx hand blender set with the maximum number of attachments on a kitchen worktop.
Attachments greatly enhance the range of a hand blender.

1. Which hand blender set to choose?

We offer hand blender sets with a wide variety of attachments and accessories , such as a hand blender with a whisk, a hand blender with a chopper, and a hand blender with a food processor. To make cleanup a breeze, most attachments are dishwasher-safe .

Whether you need, for example, a 3 in 1 hand blender or a 4 in 1 hand blender depends on your cooking habits. In general, the more attachments and accessories you have, the more you can do with an immersion blender. Our models are also available as a starter set with a blending shaft, beaker and lid.

Our hand blenders range from 1,000 to 400 watts.

2. A hand blender 800w? A hand blender 1,000w?

A stick blender relies on a motor to puree, chop and process food. The motors on our models range from 400 to 1,000 watts. To determine how many watts you need, consider what you want from a hand blender.

  • For super quick food prep and high-power attachments , such as a food processor or vacuum sealer: a hand blender with 800 watts or a hand blender with 1,000 watts.
  • For basic soups and sauces: a model with 600 watts or less.

Pro tip: A high power model lets you flexibly add attachments in the future.

3. A metal hand blender? A stainless steel hand blender? Or a plastic hand blender?

Stainless steel, high-quality plastic or a combination thereof are commonly used to make a hand blender's housing and blending shaft . In recent years, metal hand blenders have grown in popularity, but plastic models also suffice.

An advantage of a stainless steel stick blender: it won't discolour when exposed to tomato sauce. Our BPA-free plastic models have the benefit of being a more economical choice. All our blending shafts come with either a QuattroBlade or QuattroBlade Pro blade system for perfect results.

4. Is it comfortable and user friendly?

A hand blender is essentially an extension of your arm that enables you to complete different kitchen jobs. Having an ergonomic,  comfortable to use model makes all the difference.

  • Controls : Large, easy-to-reach buttons and speed settings.
  • Lightweight : So your hand doesn't tire during longer use or back-to-back food prep jobs.
  • Grip : A non-slip soft-touch coating on the handle keeps fingers in place.

5. A hand blender with all the bells and whistles?

Certain features make using a hand blender a little more enjoyable.
